WIAW-Healthy Eats

happy WIAW!

I’ve been making an extra effort this week to eat really healthy and clean so I feel extra confident in my dress this Friday for formal:)

nothing drastic, just whole, fresh foods..so no fro yo trips for me this week!

senior year of high school before prom I did this “4 day cleanse” and was starving for 4 days straight..it wasn’t fun. so instead of taking things to the extreme I’ve just decided to eat super healthy instead!

it makes me a much happier person to be around:)

Breakfast

classic yet delicious. Whole wheat english muffin with maple almond butter and a sliced banana

mm SO good.

and of course there was ice coffee alongside

Lunch

lunch was SO refreshing and yummy:

A Peanut Butter and Jelly Green Monster Smoothie

served in my 2 cup measuring cup of course:)

in the mix:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 2 tsp peanut butter
  • 1 tsp sugar free raspberry jam
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt

All blended together and slurrrrped down

i wish I drank smoothies slower..I always end up finishing them in like 2 minutes flat..ugh.

oh and i got my friend Lindsay to try a Green Monster for the first time! she said she loved it! success!

Snacks

A couple hours later i was feeling a wee bit hungry so I had some of a leftover baked sweet potato

topped with goat cheese and some siracha sauce..NOM. I didn’t eat the whole thing though I got a little sick of it half way through

I went to the store yesterday to pick up a few things, and I bought a whole watermelon!

so I cut up the whole thing to prep it for the week and served myself a large bowl

it wasn’t AS juicy as I was hoping..but its still pretty good

Dinner

I bought a lot of veggies at the store to roast ahead of time and keep in the fridge

I roasted broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash, and a red onion with some olive oil, salt, pepper, and trader joes everyday seasoning blend in the oven at 375 degrees for 20 minutes and then bumped the oven up to 425 and roasted them for another 20 minutes

I grilled up some plain chicken after my work out (muscle pump class) and dinner was ready!

With some buffalo sauce alongside for dipping..in case you didn’t know i like this spicy:)

I also had some more roasted veggies after I finished this plate..i just can’t get enough!

i finished off during with a couple pieces of dove dark chocolate

and I snacked on an apple and an individual bag of popcorn around a few hours later

I just watched Glee and it was disappointing

however New Girl is always hilarious

and then there’s Real Housewives of Orange County which is stupid yet fun to watch all at the same time

and that is my Tuesday night tv line up in case you were curious
