Yesterday’s Bodyrock workout + 2 Week Update

So you may or may not know that I have been doing the 30 day bodyrock challenge

Before I tell you my feelings so far, I’ll show you what the day 5 week 2 workout consisted of

The 600 Rep Challenge-The following exercises completed back to back

  • 100 High Knee Skips-I used the Jump Rope
  • 100 Lunge kicks (50 each leg) using theĀ Pink Sandbag- I used a 12lb bar since I went to the gym to complete this workout
  • 100 High Knee Skips
  • 100 squats using theĀ Pink Sandbag
  • 100 High Knee Skips
  • 25 Straight Abs
  • 25 V Abs Left
  • 25 V Abs Right
  • 25 Bicycle Abs

This whole work out took me about 15 minutes to complete. I thought the 100 sqauts in a row would kill me the most, but it was actually the lunge kicks that were really challenging for me! They look a little like this

I did 50 on one side, and then 50 on the other side

And the final piece of the workout

Do as many Reps of each exercise in 3 minutes for 6 minutes total

Bicep Curls-My tally 112

Bent Over Row-My tally 98

For both of these I used 8lb dumbells

After completing 2 weeks of Bodyrock (I only missed one of the days) I am feeling really good! My biceps are SO sore from yesterdays 3 minute long bicep curls, but I love the soreness I feel from the work outs!

Here’s what I love about Bodyrock

  • the how-to videos posted everyday of the work outs show modifications in case you don’t have certain equipment
  • the workouts are short, yet very effective
  • You can do all of the work outs at home with minimal equipment
  • Hot boys at the gym will stare at you because they’re impressed that your kicking ass in the gym:)

I have done most of these workouts at home, but yesterday I went to the gym just to get out of the apartment

I really want the cliche “boy meets girl in a gym and they fall in love” to happen to me..I still have 2 1/2 more years..it is GOING to happen

Its hard for me to tell you if I’m noticing results so far because A. I don’t weigh myself in general and B. I didn’t take any measurements

But I’m FEELING a lot stronger already! And my clothes seem to be a wee bit looser

I have been eating clean most of the time, but I think I would be seeing more results if I didn’t come back to college..aka I didn’t come back to partying on the weekends..sorry I’m not sorry though because I love college:)

So no I don’t think I will end up looking like this at the end of the challenge

But that hasn’t been my point of completing this challenge

I decided to complete this challenge mainly because I was looking for a way to change up my workout routine. I love the “challenge” aspect of these work outs, and I feel like I haven’t pushed myself this much in a really long time

I’m thinking even after the challenge is over that I will continue to do Bodyrock workouts weekly, because they are super effective and can be completed in a short amount of time..which is going to be key once Spring semester starts!

Ever since starting these workouts, I have been seriously craving smoothies after I work out

Here was yesterday’s

In the mix: 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt, 1 frozen banana, 1/4 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 tsp peanut butter, 3/4 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1 cup almond milk

I actually ate this smoothie with a spoon because it was so thick..yum yum YUM

I have been also meaning to show you my make-shift sandbag I have been using for a lot of the bodyrock workouts

So instead of buying a sandbag for 100 doallrs, I made my own!

Today is a rest day, and tomorrow I will be starting week 3. I’ll do another full update once I’m done with the full challenge
